Hewlett Boyd Bean, 92, of Michigan City, Indiana, formerly of New Buffalo, Michigan passed away Monday, May 25, 2020.
Hewlett was born February 17, 1928 in Sturgis, Michigan to Hewlett and Ellen (McKercher) Bean.
On February 9, 1946 Hewlett married Barbara Calkins who preceded him in death on August 27, 2011.
Hewlett was a self-employed milk man at Gateway Dairy in New Buffalo, Michigan, a World War II Army Veteran, a member of American Legion in New Buffalo and of the Methodist Church in Three Oaks, Michigan.
Hewlett leaves behind two daughters, Terri (Steve) Chrobak of La Porte, Indiana and Susan H. (Mark) Guckin of Middletown, Connecticut; grandchildren, Scott Bean, Jenni (Tommy) Schroeder, Nathan (Alanna) Whybrew, Ryan Whybrew, Joel (Courtney) Chrobak, Sarah (Adam) Conrad, Barbara (Evan) Peterson, Erinn (Dave) Smolowitz, Caitlyn Knoll, Edmund Guckin, Ann Marie (Kurt) Peterson, and James (Rocio) Guckin; great-grandchildren, Stephen, Ellie, Zach, Molly, Bennett, Hadley, Hayden, Noah, Jack, Cecilia, Cora, and Elliott; and two sisters, Joan Raine of Stevensville, Michigan, and Virginia Sriver of Niles, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; a son, Hewlett Boyd Bean; a great-grandson, Evan Knoll, and a sister, Margaret Reed.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. (C.S.T.) on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. (C.S.T.) at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Three Oaks, Michigan with military honors.
