Herbert R. Nielsen III

Herbert R. Nielsen III, age 52, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

Herbert was born on June 15, 1973, in La Porte to Herbert Nielsen II and Donna (Waterson) Nielsen.

He was a graduate of La Porte High School, Class of 1990, and attended Purdue University North Central for two years.

He is lovingly remembered by his parents; his devoted wife, Michelle Nielsen, whom he married on May 8, 1999; their son, Nathaniel Price, at home; his sister, Maryhelen (Vince) DuBose of New Haven, Indiana; and his brother, Robert Edward (Melissa) Nielsen of Westchester, Pennsylvania.

Herbert was known for his fun-loving spirit and warm personality. He had a way of bringing people together and sharing joy with everyone he met.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Church in La Porte.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
