Herbert J. Brown

Herbert J. Brown, 100 of La Porte, Indiana passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024.

Herbert was born on April 18, 1924 to the late Harry A. and Bertha (Kreke) Brown.

On July 21, 1947 Herbert married Mary Helen (Lehker) Brown who preceded him in death on March 20, 1998. He then married Leona A. Graham Brown who preceded him in death on July 30, 2022.

Herbert was a Tool & Die Machinist during his working years. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. Peter Church, and the Phi Delts. 

Surviving is a son, Thomas (Diane) Brown of La Porte; grandchildren, Todd (Roselyn) Brown, Ryan (Aekata) Brown, Adam (Haley) Brown; great grandchildren, Mia Brown, Atticus Brown, Kamille Schlabaugh, and Carson Schlabaugh; and a grandson-in-law, Jon (Christine) Schlabaugh. 

Herbert was preceded in death by a son, James J. (Nimo) Brown, and a granddaughter, Marcie Schlabaugh.

He is also survived by step children, Pamela (who precedes Herbert in death), Theresa (Richard) Hahn, Brian (Vivian) Graham, Patricia (Jerry) Craven, and Thomas (Christine) Graham.

A Private Funeral Service and burial will take place with Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel of La Porter, Indiana.
