Darlyne J. Steffens

Darlyne J. Steffens, 92, of Walkerton, Indiana, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024.

Darlyne was born December 28, 1931 to the late Joseph and Susan (Hanchar) Gazdik. She grew up in Whiting, Indiana.

Darlyne worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for the Diocese of Gary for 25 years for the late Reverend Dennis J. Teles. She was an avid dog lover and found pleasure in reading books.

Darlyne is survived by her children, Lynda S. (Steffens) husband Steven Robey (deceased) of Whitesville, Kentucky, Reverend Terrance J. Steffens of East Chicago, Indiana, and Laureen A. (Steffens), husband Michael A. Raymond of Fish Lake, Indiana; grandchildren, Frederick T. Robey of Whitesville, Kentucky, Danielle R. (Raymond) and husband Kyle Broxon of Bryan, Texas.

Visitation will be from 10-11am, Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Holy Family Parish, St. Peter Church, 1101 Michigan Avenue, la Porte, Indiana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am following the visitation. Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to La Porte County Animal Shelter, 2855 West State Road 2, La Porte, Indiana 46350.
