Constance "Connie" Tobar

God’s Army of Angels was strengthened immensely on Monday, March 3, 2025 when Constance (Connie) Jean Tobar passed away. She fought long and hard to win her battle with cancer. At the end, Connie was surrounded by her loving family and friends, all of whom had fond memories of their friend.

Connie was born on June 20, 1964 at “E” Street Hospital in La Porte, Indianato Eugene and Ruth (Essling) Tobar.

Connie is survived by her daughter, Madison and one sister, Carol (Tom) Roach, and five brothers, Larry (Sue) Tobar, Bob (Karen) Tobar, Mike (Jamie) Tobar, all of La Porte; Ron (Deb) Tobar of Franklin, Indiana, and Chuck (Marti) Tobar of Fishers, Indiana; numerous nieces and nephews along with an extended family will miss her dearly.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, a niece, Joan Tobar, a daughter of Larry and Sue Tobar.

Connie’s most enduring qualities were her infectious smile and her unique laugh that so often followed. Connie’s favorite times were spent with her daughter, Madison, her cherished friends, and large extended family whom she loved deeply.

Connie worked for the South Shore Railroad for 11 years.

Meals on wheels held a special place in her heart and if you would like to contribute in Connie’s name, you are encouraged to do so.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 2 PM Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

A funeral service will begin at 2 PM on Saturday in the Funeral Home following the visitation. Deacon Bob Wellinski will officiate.
