Colleen Joyce (Dilling) Fairley

Colleen Joyce Fairley, 95, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023. She was born on December 12, 1927, in Rensselaer, Indiana to the late Paul and Eva (VanMeter) Dilling. 

Colleen graduated from Lew Wallace High School in Gary, Indiana. She had worked for Essling Dry Cleaners in La Porte and was a Coder in medical records with La Porte Hospital for many years. After she retired, Colleen was an active volunteer at the hospital for many additional years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in La Porte, the Christian Women’s Circle, and the Phi Delta Sorority.

Colleen is survived by daughters, Carolyn (Patrick) Schacki of Valparaiso, Indiana, Connie Stewart of La Porte; grandchildren, Brad Schacki, Kate (Schacki) Holliman, Nick (Melissa) Schacki, and Lisa (Alan) Nichols; and great grandchildren, Jacob, Alexis, and Brandon Schacki, Jameson Holliman, and Jordan and Hannah Durham. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Schacki; a brother, Bill Dilling, and her husband, Bill Fairley.

Visitation will be held from 12-3 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2023, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery in Valparaiso, Indiana. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
