Christian Harbich Obituary

Christian Lukas Harbich, known affectionately as Christian to his friends and family, left this world too soon on July 3, 2025, at the age of 11. Born in La Porte on December 11, 2013, to Michelle (Matt) Rozinski and the late Alfred Harbich, Christian was a beacon of joy and humor to all who knew him.

Christian was the beloved brother of Andreas Benjamin Harbich, Jakob Alfred Harbich, and Rose Harbich. His light will continue to shine through them and his cherished paternal grandmother, Irma Harbich. He was a treasured nephew to Erika (John) Roy, Jody (Dwight) Ames, Johann (Megumi) Harbich, Steve (Jeanne) Osborn, Thomas (April) Osborn , Chris Arens, and David Osborn. Christian's vibrant spirit will also be fondly remembered by his cousins and friends, Taylor Rozinski, Chloe Bitencourt, and all those who had the pleasure of being part of his life.

Christian's early departure follows the passing of his father, Alfred Harbich, his maternal grandmother, Eunice Marlene (Osborn-Arens) Westergren, his maternal grandfather, Leslie Marshall Arens, his paternal grandfather, Helmut Harbich, and his cousin, Nick Ames. Each of them had a profound impact on his life, and now they are reunited in eternal peace.

At the time of his passing, Christian was looking forward to entering the 6th grade at Queen of All Saints Catholic School in Michigan City, Indiana. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in the young men's organization as a Deacon and took great pride in passing the Sacrament to his congregation. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him in his actions and his loving approach to others.

Christian's passion for baseball was unmatched. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the Chicago Cubs and a dedicated player in the La Porte Park and Recreation Baseball league, sponsored by Winndeavor. On and off the field, Christian was known for his loving and funny nature, often playing pranks on his brothers and sharing odd jokes with friends to see their reactions. His spirit was infectious, and his laughter could light up a room.

He held a special place in his heart for his friends, especially those who were different. His friends Anna, Andrew, Maks, and Emmaline were incredibly dear to him. Christian's inclusive nature and ability to love unconditionally were testaments to his character. He was a young man who found joy in life's simple pleasures, such as savoring his favorite chicken fingers, mac and cheese, and any kind of pizza, although tacos never made it to his list of favorites.

Christian's life may have been short in years, but the depth of his impact on those around him was profound. Described as loving, funny, and spirited, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to his loved ones. Christian's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.

The family asks everyone to wear blue jeans and your favorite sports shirt.
