Charlotte Ann (Louderback) Knowlton

Charlotte Ann Knowlton, 71, of Kingsford Heights, Indiana passed away Friday, March 19, 2021. She was born on July 23, 1949, in Portage, Indiana to the late Paul L. and Dolores (Zureck) Louderback. Charlotte was known as the newspaper lady after delivering newspapers in La Porte for many years. She had previously owned C & B’s paperback exchange bookstore. She graduated from Portage High School in 1967.  She was a board member of Kingsford Heights. She loved to quilt and cross stitch.

On September 6, 2003, Charlotte married Richard Knowlton who survives, with a daughter, Shelly Pence of Kingsford Heights; sons, Micheal Smith of Trafalgar, Indiana, Matthew (Jessica) Smith of Sawyer, Michigan, Mark Smith of Alabama; grandchildren, Brittany (Nate) Curtsinger, Andrew Pence; a great granddaughter, Adelyn Curtsinger; and a brother, Charles Louderback of New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, William Smith Jr., a grandson, William Smith III; and a sister, Caroline Louderback.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Pine Lake Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, La Porte, Indiana.
