Charles T. Putchaven, 81, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Charles was born January 3, 1937 in Michigan City, Indiana, to Medard and Virginia (Wagner) Putchaven. He retired as a welder and operating engineer with the Edward C. Levey Corporation with over 40 years of service.
On June 13, 1970, Charles married Genevieve Kornet who preceded him in death on February 15, 2010. Surviving are his children, Valerie Wojcieszek, (husband Ken) of Chicago; a son, Anthony Putchaven, (wife Kim) of Chicago; two grandchildren, Genevieve Wojcieszek and Abigail Putchaven; two sisters, Mary Drazen of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Jane Scott of Long Beach, Indiana; and a brother, John Putchaven (wife Nancy) of Michigan City, Indiana. His parents, wife, and a sister, Norma Meska, all preceded him in death.
Charles was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in La Porte and served in the United States Army.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2018, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in La Porte. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, Indiana.
