Charles Nebelung

Charles Nebelung, 85, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023.

He was born January 24, 1938, to Lawrence and Ethel (Zeitz) Nebelung in La Porte, Indiana. On April 29, 1961, he married Luann Blakeman who preceded him in death. 

Charles retired from La Porte Foundry after 22 years of service. After retirement he worked at Willow Nursing Home in Valparaiso. He liked yard work, fishing, and spending time with his family. He served his country in the US Army. 

He is survived by daughter, Tina (Jim) Daisy of La Porte; son, Jon (Lori) Nebelung, of La Porte; grandchildren, Jon (Amanda) Nebelung, Nicole Nebelung, Matthew (Asia) Daisy, and David Daisy; great grandchildren, Kylen, Bella, Avery, Lillie, Jonny, Zak, Olivia, Elliot, Jayce, and Oaklynn; sisters, Virginia Stonkus of Brockton, Massachusetts, Carol Camp of Leechburg, Pennsylvania, Alice James of La Porte, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister Beverly Kay Cookie; a sister, Ruth Martin; and a brother, Robert Nebulung.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 7 p.m.

Private burial will be at Pine Lake Cemetery.
