Charles M. Kinney

Charles M. Kinney, 77 of Michigan City, Indiana passed away Friday, January 10, 2025.

Charles was born on January 27, 1947 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Duane William Kinney and Hazel May (James).

On February 4, 1967, Charles married Ruth (Graf) Kinney who survives with a son, Tom (Dana) Kinney of La Porte; grandchildren, Tyler (Kodie) Kinney and Paige (Ryan) Dessart; a daughter-in-law, Lori Kinney of Michigan City; step grandchildren, Alicia and Bryton Maxey; sister-in-law, Jean Kinney; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven Kinney; and siblings, Howard, John, Mary Lou, Joyce, and Robert.

Charles was a welder with Berkel in La Porte for 32 years. He loved woodworking, having made wishing wells, rocking horses, and bird houses. He enjoyed attending flea markets. He was also an animal lover, especially his great dane, Kapone.

Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 11 AM on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, indiana.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Rick Jones will follow the visitation at 11 AM in the funeral home.
