Ann Louisa Konieczny

Ann Louisa Konieczny, 61 of La Porte, Indiana passed away Friday, August 2, 2024 after a brief illness. It was one-year to the day of her brother Paul’s death.

Born to Stephen J. and Mary L. (Tamlin) Konieczny in La Porte. Ann attended La Porte public schools and graduated from LPHS in 1981. She enjoyed music of all sorts, generally playing her rock-n-roll at socially unacceptable levels. Ann made it her responsibility to take care of her aging parents, dedicating years of her life to looking after their wellbeing and was fortunate to count her mother as her best friend. Ann delighted in finding ways of helping others, performing simple acts of kindness, often unseen. Ann was a free spirit, marching to the beat of her own drum, with the drummer sounding remarkably like Neil Peart. There will never be another like her and the world is a duller place with her gone. She will always be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Paul and Mark, and nephew Kristopher. Ann is survived by sisters Barbara (Robin) Wine and Sally Konieczny both of La Porte, and John (Alison) Konieczny of Big Rapids, MI; nieces and nephews, Stephen, Brian, Jason, Amanda, Andrea, and Katelyn; several great nieces and nephews and bonus brother, Frankie Pawlik, of NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 201 Bach Street, La Porte, Indiana.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel in La Porte is in charge of arrangements.

From dogs to squirrels and from cats to coons, Ann was an animal lover through and through. She took care of critters in need to the best of her ability, so the family asks for donations to be made in her name to the Independent Cat Society of Westville or the Michiana Humane Society.
