Alice Marie (Biege) Saliwanchik

Alice Marie Saliwanchik, 78, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Friday, December 18, 2020.  She was born on April 30, 1942, in La Porte to Charles and Marion (Niendorf) Biege.  Alice worked at American Rubber many years ago. She was a bookkeeper for the family business, Saliwanchik & Son Welding & Fabrication and drove a School Bus for 25 years for the La Porte Community School Corporation. She enjoyed growing flowers and plants. She loved her dogs, Happy, Candy, and Gus.

On February 12, 1966, Alice married Johnny E. Saliwanchik who survives with their sons, Ted (Sheri) Saliwanchik of La Porte, Scott (Catherine) Saliwanchik of La Porte; grandchildren, Alex, Ben, Hunter, and Amber; and a great grandson, Oaklee. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Charles 'Sonny' Biege.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.  Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Pine Lake Cemetery.

All attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
