Walter J. Miller

Walter J. Miller, 90, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

Walter was born March 29, 1927 in LaPorte, Indiana to Donald and Laura (Wiltd) Miller, who preceded him in death.

On June 5, 1954, in LaPorte, Indiana Walter married Patricia M. Pekofske who survives.

Walter worked at Allis Chalmers as an assembler and formerly worked at Plimpton Press.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and LaPorte High School Football Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Walter leaves behind his wife, Patricia; a son, Jon P. Miller of LaPorte, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jason L. Miller; and a brother, Richard A. Miller.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at St. Peter Catholic Church in La Porte.  Burial will follow in Pine Lake Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, LaPorte, Indiana.

Memorial contribution may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1104 Monroe Street, LaPorte, Indiana 46350.
