Robert Eugene Padgett, 70 of La Porte, Indiana passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020. He was born October 30, 1949 in La Porte to Ora Elza and Phyllis (Renfro) Padgett Jr. He retired from Scott Brass in New Carlisle, Indiana.

On July 11, 2003, Robert married Susan Nemeth who preceded him in death on July 25, 2018. He was also preceded by his parents; a daughter, Nancy Jo Harshman; and a brother, Gary Padgett.

Surviving is a son, Robert (Robbie) Padgett; a stepson, Tim (Sara) Nemeth of Kalamazoo, Michigan; siblings, Sherri Padgett Patrick of La Porte, Kathy Griffin of La Porte, Mark Lowery of Hamlet; and nephews, Mike & Scott Padgett.

Robert served his country in the United States Army and was a friend to the Salvation Army.

Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Cremation has taken place.
