Rita M. (Czanderza) Waldrop

Rita M. (Czanderna) Waldrop, 67, of La Porte, Indiana, formerly of Las Vegas, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Rita was born, September 25, 1950, in La Porte to Joseph John and Rose Irene (Boone) Czanderna. She had been employed with Centrylink for 34 years as a Level 4 Engineering Clerk.

On April 29, 1972, Rita married Richard L. Waldrop who preceded her in death on May 8, 2013. She leaves behind her sisters, Susan (Harry) Weliver of La Porte, Sylvia Henry of La Porte, and Lisa (Larry) Johns of La Porte; brothers, Michael (Kay) Czanderna of La Porte, Patrick Czanderna of Greenville, Michigan, and Joseph (Kathi) Czanderna of Overland Park, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Tootsie Rose.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jeff Czanderna, and a niece Kari Waldrop.

Rita was a member of St. Peter Catholic church in La Porte and graduated from La Porte High School in 1968 and attended business college. She loved movies and was a very kind and generous person. The family would like to thank Great Lakes Hospice for their special care.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2018, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1101 Michigan Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. Burial will follow in Pine Lake Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
