Michael K. Wolfe, 46, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana passed away Sunday June 24, 2018 at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago. Michael was born January 12, 1972 in East Chicago, Indiana to James and Annette (Oakley) Wolfe.
Michael was a Parts Manager with Christenson Chevrolet in Highland, Indiana for over 17 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Porte, a 1990 Hammond High School graduate, and an avid Notre Dame, Bears, and White Sox fan.
On June 9, 2013, Michael married Amy Surma who survives with their three-year-old daughter, Lauren Sue. Michael is also survived by his father, James Wolfe of Hammond, Indiana; father and mother-in-law, David & Sandra Surma of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; brothers-in-law, Anthony (Krissy) Surma of Rolling Prairie, Christopher, (Jeri) Surma of Rolling Prairie, Jon-Paul (Amy) Surma of Granger, Indiana; aunts, Pam (Mike) Pacyna of Portage, Indiana, and Bessie Halfacre of Munster, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. His mother, Annette Wolfe preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana, where a Parish Rosary will be at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Porte, with Reverend Ian Williams officiating. Family and friends may gather at 9 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. John Kanty Cemetery.
