Lois E. (Jensen) Diedrich

Lois E. Diedrich, 95, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018.

Lois was born February 10, 1923 in Walkerton, Indiana to the late Carl and Rose (Frain) Jensen.

On February 2, 1946 Lois married Edward H. Diedrich who preceded her in death on July 11, 2008.

Lois was the manager of the deli at Al’s Thrift Mart for many years.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Senior group, Circle #6 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, volunteered at the Thrift shop on A Street, loved to bake and work in her flower garden.  She loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved to play penny slots.

Lois leaves behind a daughter, Kathryn (John) Schutz of New Carlisle, Indiana; a son, John (Lois) Diedrich of La Porte, Indiana; grandchildren, Tony (Yadi) Schutz, Matthew Schutz, Katie (Kenny) Adams, Daniel Diedrich, Ida (Mark) Kmiecik; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Benjamin, and Adler Schutz, Madeline Diedrich, Wyatt, Marshall, Beau, and Calla Kmiecik; and several nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Andrea Schutz; a grandson, Robert Diedrich; and eight siblings.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church, 111 Kingsbury Avenue, La Porte, Indiana, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service.  Pastor Ronald Brauer will officiate.  Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
