LaVerne E. (Gehling) Litza

LaVerne E. Litza, 89, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018.  LaVerne was born February 26, 1928, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Charles and Theresa Ann (Sebolsky) Gehling.  She had worked as a telephone operator for AT&T for five years and then a homemaker for 50 years, and after raising her children she worked with her daughter Nancy at Packaging Partners in South Bend.  On November 19, 1949, LaVerne married Daniel F. Litza who preceded her in death on October 26, 1994.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Litza in 2010, and three siblings.

LaVerne leaves behind her children, Christine Litza of Chicago, Nancy Biggum of Rolling Prairie, Elaine (Eugene) Turczynski of South Bend, Yvonne (Wayne Geils) Litza of Crete, Illinois, Raymond (Jackie) Litza of Orland Park, Illinois, Gene (Jan) Litza of La Porte, Mark (Sherri) Litza of Rolling Prairie, Thomas Litza of Rolling Prairie, and Michael (Denise) Litza of Plainfield, Indiana; 22 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. 

LaVerne was a member of St. John Kanty Catholic Church in Rolling Prairie and a member and past president of the Rosary Society. 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.  A Rosary will follow the visitation a 1 p.m.
