I just found this obituary online and was so incredibly sad to read of Dr O’s passing. He was on of a kind. I met Dr O as an undergraduate at Notre Dame. He helped me and 3 other girls establish a physical therapy club at ND 25 years ago. He was a fantastic teacher, mentor, and friend with a one of a kind sense of humor and grace. My heart is so sad. Thank you Dr O. I will miss you, my friend.

I was blessed to know Dr. O'Malley and have many fond memories of him and my medical school anatomy class. Although I may have forgotten the 50 salient features of the sphenoid bone, I'm sure none of us will every forget his words on the first day of class. He told us we would fail the first anatomy test - and we did. As over-achieving aspiring young physicians, we were used to being challenged, but not used to failure. He taught us to be humble. He taught us to persevere. He taught us more than anatomy. I was blessed to have him as a mentor. Cherish the lifetime of memories you made with him.
