Georgeann “Georgie” Schindler, 18, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018.
Georgie was born September 29, 1999 in Michigan City, Indiana to Joe and Shawn (Johnson) Schindler.
Georgie is survived by her parents; a sister, Christine Black; four brothers, Joseph W. and Christopher J. Shindler, Jeremy Dammarell and Adam Mueller; maternal grandfather, Robert L. Johnson of Woodstock, Georgia; six aunts, Suzie (Stan) Freft, Sally (John) Steffy, Michele Belzowski, Jan Madden, Doreen Johnson and Jenny Gibb; two uncles, Bob and Chris Johnson, a special niece, Chloe Black; two nephews, Robbie Black and Max Cronin; special friends, Hayden Leyden, Nichole Sergiwa and Anna Foggelsong, and many others. Georgie was preceded in death by grandparents, William C. Schindler, Georgiana Schindler, and Sue E. Huber.
Georgie loved her life and lived it with great joy. She balanced family, friends, church, school, work and sports. She was in National honor Society, participated in cross country and girls reserve. At 18 years old, Georgie never got too old to curl up next to her Daddy on the couch or to playfully give her mom and extra “little Squeeze”. Georgie loved her family, friends, church, neighbors, and community. She loved ice cream, Hacienda chips and lots of salsa. She was looking forward to starting her first year at Valparaiso University, discovering her potential success as an adult, new responsibilities and new adventures. Georgie’s life, though all too short, was well lived and all who loved her feel blessed for the time they shared. She will be forever missed.
