Dorothy Jean Stevens, 91, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018. She was born December 2, 1926, in Michigan City to the late Claude and Leona (Phillips) Rudolph. On August 19, 1947, Dorothy married Richard G. Stevens who preceded her on February 12, 1965.
Dorothy leaves behind two daughters, Sue Stevens of Mishawaka, Katherine Stevens of New Carlisle; four sons, Robert Stevens of Hudson Lake, John (Jill) Stevens of New Carlisle, Gary and Michael Stevens of St. Petersburg, Florida; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was also preceded by two sons, Thomas and Mark Stevens; a brother, Richard Rudolph; and step-father, Carl Schmuhl.
Dorothy was a member of St. John Kanty Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary-Rolling Prairie, Golden Ages, Rolling Prairie Community Center, and a former volunteer at St. Anthony Hospital. She enjoyed playing cards and working in her yard. She was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bulls and retired after 15 years at Levines.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2018 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana, where a Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018 in the Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel. Burial will follow in Rolling Prairie Cemetery.
