Carol J. (Galloway) Vann

Carol J. Vann, 76, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017.  She was born December 1, 1940 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of the late Elsie Ulrich and Eugene Galloway.  On March 14, 1959, Carol married Leonard H. Vann who survives.  Also surviving is a daughter Deborah Vann of La Porte; and sons, Michael A. (Lisa Sharpe) Vann of La Porte; Leonard B. “Brian” Vann of La Porte; a grandson, Jerome (Noelle) Vann of Michigan City; two great granddaughters, Paige and Skylar Vann; sisters, Margaret Everly of Brewer, Maine and Winifred Lambert of La Porte; cousin, Sandra (Larry) Trueblood of La Porte; a lifelong friend, Alyce Compton of La Porte; and several other loved relatives and friends.

Carol was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in La Porte and a former member of the Michiana Antique Automobile Club. She was strong in both faith and family. She was a loving person who always cared for others, and found a great fulfillment in doing so. She had a quick wit, a sharp mind, and a fantastic sense of humor. Carol was an avid Notre Dame fan, a devote animal lover, and more than anything, she had an immense amount of love for her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren.

Private services and burial have taken place.  Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel in La Porte, Indiana is handling arrangements for the family.
