Brian "Bubba" A. Barker

Brian A. “Bubba” Barker, 45, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019.

Brian was born January 30, 1974 in La Porte, Indiana to Donald and Sharon (Spence) Barker.

Brian was the manager of New Durham Hardware in Westville.  He graduated from Purdue in 2000 earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering Technology.  He was best known for his unwavering devotion and commitment to family and friends.  He was an active supporter of the 4-H Club and an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. One of his recent and proudest moments was being inducted into the La Porte High School Football Hall of Fame in 2017 concurrently with his brother.

He is survived by his parents; a brother, Steve (Nicole) Barker of La Porte; two sisters, Jennifer Barker of La Porte, and Melissa Barker of La Porte; two nephews, Zachary French and Gavin Reinhart; his energetic black lab, Junior; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher Barker.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.  A Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1110 Monroe Street, La Porte, Indiana. Reverend Ian Williams will officiate.
