William J. Wurster

William J. Wurster, 83, of La Porte, Indiana entered into eternal peace on Saturday, December 3, 2016.  Bill was born April 7, 1933 in La Porte, Indiana to Frank and Mary (Povlock) Wurster.  He retired as District Manager for Petro-Lane Gas Service and was the former owner of Wurster Family Market.

On May 22, 1954 in New Buffalo, Michigan, Bill married Ruth E. Gray.

Bill leaves many loving memories to be cherished by his wife, Ruth Wurster; daughters, Patricia J. Kalsow and Diana L. (Greg Campbell) Wurster of La Porte; sons, Donald W. (Shirley) Wurster of Brownsburg, Indiana and David M. Wurster of La Porte; nine grandchildren, Kevin, Drew, Ian, Ryan, Sean, Stephanie, Amelia, Seth, and Cale; great grandchildren, Trenton, Jaiden, Gabby, Dylan, Cohen, Brenden, Alaina, A.J., and Owen; a sister, Marjorie Gordon of Spokane, Washington; and a brother, Kenneth “Jim” Wurster of La Porte.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved, parents, a sister, Mary Catherine “Cass” Taylor; and a brother, Donald F. Wurster.

Bill was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Beacon Hills Men’s Club, and the Elks Club.  He honorable served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Tuesday with Reverend Roger Ash officiating.   Military honors will immediately follow the service.
