Ruth A (Everly) Rothbauer

Ruth Ann Rothbauer, 64, of LaPorte, Indiana left this life hoping for God's promised new life on Monday, January 9, 2017. 

Ruth was born February 22, 1952 in New Albany, Indiana to Woodrow and Rachel (Wallace) Everly. On July 6, 1970, Ruth married her high school sweetheart, Thomas D Rothbauer with whom she shared her entire life. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, David Everly and his wife Joyce. She is survived by Tom and their son Christopher (Sandy Saldivar) Rothbauer and two grand children, Lauren and Emily Rothbauer whom she loved dearly. 

Ruth was a graduate of Silver Creek High School in Sellersburg, Indiana. She later earned Nursing degrees from IVY Tech in South Bend, Indiana (LPN) and Rock Valley Community College in Rockford, Illinois (RN) where she graduated with highest honors. She worked at various hospitals and nursing homes in Indiana and Illinois. Ruth was a compassionate and caring woman who loved bedside nursing where she could interact with those who were hurting, help them cope with their difficulties and intimately assist with their recovery. When she became sick herself and could no longer work, she continued to care for family and friends in so many ways. In remembrance of her, Ruth would like you to consider becoming an organ donor at your death so that you might also help others in their time of need.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.,  Saturday, January 14, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church, LaPorte, Indiana. Reverend Ian Williams will officiate.

Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Ave, LaPorte, Indiana is in charge of arrangements. Per Ruth's request, there will not be a visitation at the funeral home. Please share memories and condolences with the family at esslingfuneralhome.com.
