Ruth Ann (Evenburg) Howell

Ruth Ann Howell, 85, of Mill Creek passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at home.

Ruth was born on September 8, 1929 in La Porte, Indiana to William and Grace (Sharp) Evenburg.

On October 25, 1947 she married Lloyd Howell who preceded her in death on May 18, 2012.

Ruth is survived by one daughter Kathy (Greg) Trevillian of Mill Creek, IN; one son Michael (Shirley) Howell, also of Mill Creek, IN; five grandchildren, Jeremy Howell, Nick Howell, Stephanie Barker, Cari Whittler and Josh Howell, seven great grandchildren, Hayleigh and Benjamin Barker, Addison and Kaley Howell, Gabe and Nolan Howell and Katherine Whittler; one sister Patricia Berby. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Marrow, two brothers William and Robert Evenburg.

Ruth and her husband were farmers, she loved being on the farm with her best friend and forever love, Lloyd. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.  Ruth enjoyed family gatherings with all her wonderful family including her 2 special nephews Mike Berby and Bob Evenburg. She loved to laugh and loved to dance. Ruth also loved to spend the winter in Florida and has made many special friends there. She loved the sun and was able to enjoy the sun in Florida for the last few months. Ruth will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. She was truly one of a kind.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Essling Funeral Home, Frank L. Keszei, Funeral Director, 1117Indiana Ave, La Porte, Indiana. Funeral services will be Monday, April 13, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Essling Funeral Home, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, IN.
