Rodolfo Zarate

Rodolfo Zarate, 71, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017.  He was born on October 16, 1945, to the late Josefina Guzman Vazquez and Fidel Zarate Lemus in Guadalajara, Mexico. 

On June 3, 1994, Rodolfo married Ann DuBois. He leaves behind his wife, Ann; children; Nick (Arlene) of New Carlisle, Indiana, Dana Zarate of Mishawaka, Indiana, Toni (Stephen) Betz of South Bend, Indiana, and Cristina Zarate of South Bend, Indiana; two step children, Amy Marquez and Kevin Dews; seven grandchildren, Roisin, Sinead, Aisling, and Rory Zarate, Rondo Kelly, & Colleen and Gabrielle Paul.  He was the fourth of ten children. 

Rodolfo was an artist, inventor, and poet.  Most of all he loved his family. He apprenticed under Guillermo Chavez Vega in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he helped paint a famous mural called, the laws of reform in the supreme tribunal of justice of the state of Jalisco. He retired from Mastic Corporation where he worked for 30 years. His friends know him by (Pancho).     

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 12 noon on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church in South Bend, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the mass in the church.  Cremation has taken place.
