Phyllis Louise (Kepplin) Crook

Phyllis Louise Crook, 86, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Friday, March 27, 2015.  Phyllis was born September 25, 1928, in La Porte, Indiana to Paul and Edith (Haskin) Kepplin.  She retired after 18 years of service at the La Porte Hospital business admitting office. 

On November 25, 1950, Phyllis married John P. Crook who preceded her in death on February 25, 2010.  She was also preceded by her parents; brothers, Lloyd “Jack” Kepplin, Pat Kepplin, and Eugene Kepplin.

Phyllis is survived by her sons, Douglas L. (Robyn) Crook of Indianapolis, Indiana, David P. (Betty) Crook of La Porte, Indiana, and Dale J. (Josephine) Crook of La Porte, Indiana; and grandsons, Brian P. (Leslie), Jordan C. (Bree), Zachary D. Crook, Robert M. (Jo Ellen) Whorwell, and a special niece, Cheryl (Alan) Good.

Phyllis was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the La Porte Hospital Retirees Club. 

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2015, Essling Funeral Home, Frank L. Keszei Funeral Director, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015 in the Essling Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Pine Lake Cemetery.
