Patricia Mae Gibson

Patricia Mae Gibson, 85, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Wednesday June 15th, 2016, in her home.  Patricia was born December 6, 1930, in Goshen, Indiana to John C. & Elsie F. (Box) Gibson.  Patricia was an elementary school teacher for thirty-seven years, her first year in Ohio, and thirty-six in LaPorte at Riley Elementary.  

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John B.Gibson; a brother-in-law, Kenneth D. Butts; a nephew, John Butts and great nephew, Kenneth J. Butts. Patricia leaves behind a sister, Mary Butts of LaPorte, Indiana; two nieces, Lisa (John) Lemberis of LaPorte, Indiana; Dana (Gary) Davis of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; two nephews, David (Lorrie) Butts of LaPorte, Indiana; K.Rex (Laura)Butts of Columbia, Maryland and a niece-in-law, Kim Butts of North Liberty, Indiana; several great nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends.

Patricia graduated from High School in 1948 in Archbold, Ohio.  She received her B.A. in 1954 from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio, and went on to receive a Masters-Degree from Valparaiso University.  Patricia was a member and held various officer positions in the Rebecca's, LaPorte County Retired Teachers, AAUW and The Delta Kappa Gamma Society. 

 A memorial service to celebrate Pat's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 10th, 2016 at I Street Church of Christ, 1616 I St., LaPorte, IN.
