Nancy Joan (Swanson) Werts

Nancy Joan Werts, 78, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Golden Living Fountainview Terrace nursing home in La Porte, Indiana.  Nancy was born December 8, 1937, in La Porte, Indiana to Earl and Leona (Cernek) Swanson both who have preceded her in death.  She was a homemaker and book keeper.  On July 23, 1957, Nancy married Carleton Werts who preceded her in death on September 12, 1972. 

Nancy leaves behind her children, Robert (Penelope) Werts of Jacksonville, Florida, Diane (Terry) Walter of La Porte, Indiana, Catherine Weldon of La Porte, Indiana; grandchildren, Leighton (Angie) Walter, Lindsey (Jeff) Poole, Nolan Weldon, and Nathanael Nelson; great grandchildren, Kaydin, Josie, Jacob, Aubrie, and soon to be born, Lucy; sisters, Shirley Lhotka of La Porte, Indiana, Carol (Jim) Miller of New Port Richey, Florida, Judy Ford, Rebecca Blake of La Porte, Indiana; and brothers, Robert Earl and David Swanson of La Porte, Indiana. 

Nancy was an avid contributor to the World Wildlife Foundation, loved bowling, fishing, swimming, traveling, crocheting, and loved to shop. 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, ESSLING CHAPEL, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, ESSLING CHAPEL, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.  Burial will follow in Pine Lake Cemetery.
