Michael R. Kranz

Michael R. Kranz, 52 of La Porte, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 6, 2015.  Michael was born July 17, 1962, at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri to Barbara (Kopischke) Kosco and Martin Kranz.

Michael was currently employed for the past 16 years with Walmart as an assistant manager and had previously been employed with AL’s supermarket for 11 years.

On June 2, 1990, Michael married Dorothy Schable who survives.  Surviving with his wife Dorothy; are daughters, Katelyn and Kayla Kranz both of La Porte; his mother, Barbara Kosco and his stepfather, Frank Kosco of Fish Lake, Indiana; sisters, Karen Kranz of Blue Springs, Missouri, Diane (Bert) Lindstrum of Mokena, Illinois; brothers, Scott (Krissy) Kosco of Munster Indiana, Tim (Cindy) Kranz of Blue Springs, Missouri; a sister in law, Lorrie Kranz of Illinois; and four half-brothers, Mark, Matt, Mitch, and Mike; along with several nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his father Martin; and brother, Jim Kranz.

Michael was an avid Blackhawks fan and enjoyed antiquing.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Monday, January 12, 2015, Essling Funeral Home, 1117 Indiana Ave., La Porte, Indiana.  Funeral services will be at 10 AM Tuesday, January 13, 2015, Essling Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
