Lillian Ann (Senics) Gordon

Lillian Ann Gordon, 95, of La Porte, Indiana and formerly of Whiting, Indiana, passed away at 12:55 Sunday morning, May 22, 2016, at St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City, Indiana.  Lillian was born to Michael A. and Ella (Motel) Senics in Chicago, Illinois on July 22, 1920. 

Lillian was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  In addition to being a homemaker, she enjoyed gardening, decorating, knitting, needle pointing, and many kinds of sewing.  She and her family were longtime members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Whiting where she also was a member of the choir.  Lillian was widely recognized as a lady who would reach out to help someone in need.  Instead of donations, her wish was for us all to assist someone in need. 

Lillian was married to Nicholas C. Gordon, Jr. on July 27, 1939, who preceded her in death September 11, 2000.  Also preceding her in death were her brother, Dr. Paul (Sally) Senics; her sisters, Ella (Jack) Vasil and Ann (Joseph) Cullen; her daughter, Gwenyth Taylor; her niece Andrea (William) Geary; and her nephew, Dr. Joseph (Susan) Cullen. 

Lillian is survived by her daughter Gail (Eugene) Gierke of La Porte, Indiana; her son Nicholas (Mary) Gordon III of Sabula, Iowa; her granddaughters, Gina (Michael) Siwietz of Michigan City, Indiana, Dr. Tammy Gierke (Daniel) Button of Whiting, Indiana, Jillian Gierke of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Loretta (Chris) Picco of Waukesha, Wisconsin; her grandsons, Matthew Taylor of Tucson, Arizona and Nicholas Gordon IV of Sabula, Iowa; and her great grandchildren, Nicholas Siwietz, Nerissa Siwietz, Lucas Picco, and Catelyn Picco.

A private graveside service was held at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte, Indiana on May 24, 2016.  Arrangements by, Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, ESSLING CHAPEL, 1117, Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
