Jim Edward Osborn

Jim Edward Osborn, 81 of La Porte, Indiana passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017.

Jim was born July 12, 1936 in Oblong, Illinois to John and Vivian Osborn.  He retired in 1998 as an electrician with Bethlehem Steel after 34 years of service.  Jim was a member of the United Steel Workers Union, the American Legion, attended 1st Baptist church of Kingsbury, and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

On September 2, 1961, Jim married Thelma Noble.  He is survived by his wife, Thelma, children, Anna Miller of Fish Lake, Indiana, John D. (Melanie) Osborn of La Porte, Indiana, Donna (Robert) Whippo of St. Joseph County, Indiana, David (Jennifer) Osborn of New Carlisle, Indiana; six grandsons; six granddaughters; one great granddaughter; and a sister, Cecily (Harold) Shipmen of Robinson, Illinois.  A granddaughter, Leigha Kay Miller; a grandson, Jason D. Osborn; a sister, Dorothy Garrard; and brothers, Tink, David, and Jack Osborn all preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana where funeral services will begin a 1 p.m. immediately following visitation.  Burial will follow in Kingsbury Cemetery.
