Jack D. Travis

Jack D. Travis of LaPorte, Indiana passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015.

Born October 23, 1927 to Carol M. (Mangus) and Leland A. Travis. 

Jack had been employed as a truck driver with Pepsi Cola, Allis-Chalmers, and Howmet. 

On March 17, 1951 Jack married Barbara Kruger who preceded him in death on August 15, 1993.  He was also preceded by his parents, a sister, Flora J. Huntington, brothers, Ned & Larry Travis, and a grandson, Randy Elkins, Jr.

Jack leaves behind children, Jacqueline (Richard) Dolan, Douglas A. (Tessie) Travis, Gary M. (Michelle) Travis, Julie Travis, and Jill E. (Randy) Elkins; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister, Carolee Gardner.

Jack served in the United States Navy during WWII, belonged to the American Legion, Hamon Gray Post 83, Stillwell Rod & Gun Club, National Rifle Association, and Past President of the LaPorte Gun Club.

A private family funeral will take place.  Essling Funeral Home- Frank L. Keszei Funeral Director in LaPorte, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
