Henry J. Marsh

Henry J. Marsh, 92, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016.  He was born on November 10, 1923 in Langley, Arkansas to J.H.P. Marsh and Ann (Nee-Lowery) Marsh.  Henry retired from Allis Chalmers after 37 years in the experimental engineering department. 

On March 25, 1950 in LaPorte, Indiana he married Magalene Demein who preceded him in death on April 18, 1987, and on December 30, 1998, he married Roberta Jean Fischer who preceded him in death on September 25, 2013.

Henry leaves behind; one sister, Marie York; two step-daughters, Dianne Williamson and Julie (Bill) Duttlinger; three step-sons, Mark (Kathy) Fischer, Greg Fischer and Scott (Becky) Fischer; fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one niece, Pat (Pete) Bernacchi and their four children and their grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Magalene Demein; his second wife, Roberta Jean Fischer; one son, Thomas Owen Marsh and one sister, Maybell Simmons.

Henry was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, a WWII Veteran, Air Corp 8th Air Force 1943-1945 Europe, B-24 tail gunner.

Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, ESSLING CHAPEL, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. in the funeral home, with Reverend Ronald A. Brauer officiating.  Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery with Military Honors.
