Frederick W. Bowers

Frederick W. Bowers, 96, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017.

Frederick was born on February 5, 1921, in La Porte, Indiana to the late Edward and Anna (Genieser) Bowers.

Frederick was a machinist in the Experimental Department at Allis Chalmers, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. Fred loved flying his Cessna 182 airplane.

Celebrating his life and memories are an extended family in the U.S. and Germany, many local friends, and especially his “coffee club.” 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2017, at St Joseph Catholic Church, 109 C. Street, La Porte, Indiana. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in La Porte.

Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, LaPorte, Indiana are in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Healthcare Foundation of La Porte, 323 Pine Lake Ave., La Porte, IN 46350.
