Edna May Blair, 103, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Edna was born May 25, 1911 in Kingsbury, Indiana to Fred and Bertha (Pitzer) Bluhm. She retired from Austenal (Howmet) as a wax assembler for 13 years; she worked at T.P. Lab prior to Austenal; and was the former owner of Blair Royal Blue Grocery and Meat.
Edna married Stanley Blair on November 19, 1935 in Michigan City, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2000. Also surviving is a daughter Sherry Clark of Symsonia, Kentucky, eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two great- great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Judy Blair of Dayton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Terry Blair; one sister and one brother.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, La Porte, Indiana; St. Peter Rosary Society; Our Lady of Snows Circle; and the Funeral Choir. She was also a former Eagles, Moose, and Lionettes member.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, Essling Funeral Home, Frank L. Keszei, Funeral Director, 1117 Indiana Avenue, LaPorte, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday April 8, 2015, St. Peter Catholic Church, La Porte, Indiana. Family and friends may gather at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Essling Funeral Home prior to the Mass. Entombment will take place in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, Indiana.
