Eddie J. Morris

Eddie J. Morris, 75, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018.  Eddie was born September 9, 1942 in Vincennes, Indiana to Charles Anthony and Nettie Mae (Pearce) Morris. 

Eddie retired from New York Blower on March 26, 2004, after 29 years of service.  He had previously worked for Windbrow RV and Mobile home roofing in Michigan City and on the family farm as a youth.   

On November 22, 1980, Eddie married Dorothea Kellogg who survives.  Also surviving with his wife of 37 years is his daughter, Beth (John) Levendowski of La Porte; a son, Jim (Shantel) Morris of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Thomas, Alyssa, Dylan, and Kyla; and a sister, Wanda Mae Hunt of Dugger, Indiana.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Charles William Morris, Edward Lee Morris, Joyce Virginia Hulen, Robert Wayne Morris, and Thelma Jean Sterling.   

Eddie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in La Porte, the ushers club, and was an avid Cubs, Bulls, and Bears fan.  He had also been a ping pong champion at the Michigan City YMCA in his younger days. 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana, where a Parish Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in La Porte, Indiana.  Family and friends may gather at 9 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
