Carmo M. (Curtis) Johnson

Carmo M. Johnson, 93, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at Golden Living Fountain View nursing home.

Carmo was born October 9, 1922 in La Porte to Lloyd and Onalee (Andrews) Curtis, Sr. She retired from Howmet after 31 years in the X-ray department and had previously been employed with the Whirlpool Corporation.

On August 1, 1942 Carmo married Richard “Bud” Weidner who died on February 10, 1966.  On November 25, 1966 Carmo married Kenneth A. “Nipper” Johnson who died on August 3, 2013. 

Carmo leaves behind daughters, Karen Hamilton of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, Linda (Kevin Hannon) Spier of La Porte, Indiana, Sally Wikel of La Porte, Indiana; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Sandra McVay of Wakarusa, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Loretta Curtis; and several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Carmo was preceded in death by her husbands, a granddaughter, a brother, Lloyd Curtis Jr., son-in-law’s, Ray Hamilton, Harry Wikel, and a brother-in-law, William McVay. 

Private services and burial will be held.  Frank L. Keszei, ESSLING CHAPEL, La Porte, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
