Bettye (Brown) Kolar

Bettye Kolar, 77, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Monday, January 29, 2018.

Bettye was born May 24, 1940 to Roscoe and Ruby (Bryan) Brown in McClarty, Alabama.

On May 27, 1961, she married John J. Kolar, who preceded her in death on October 25, 2017.

Bettye graduated from Gadsden High School in 1958. She was a secretary in the engineering department at Allis Chalmers for 13 years and an administrator for her husband’s appraisal service. She held a real estate license. She was a member of the La Porte First United Methodist Church and enjoyed her grandchildren who were the love of her life.

Bettye is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Kevin) Cochran of La Porte, Indiana; and two grandsons, Jonah and Casey Cochran.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Reverend Evan Lash will officiate.
