Bernice M. (Jarosch) Burns

Bernice M. Burns, 88, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Friday, August 19, 2016.

Bernice was born March 26, 1928 in Browerville, Minnesota to Peter Jarosch and Anna Stach.  She was employed with American Home Foods until they closed and had previously been employed with Reliance Drugs.

On November 30, 1946, in Michigan City, Indiana, Bernice married Lawrence Burns who preceded her in death on May 23, 1996.  A son, Donald Burns also preceded her in death on July 23, 2013, and by her four siblings.

Bernice leaves behind her children, Ronald (Linda) Burns of Syracuse, New York, Sharon (William) Taylor of La Porte, Darwin (Lori) Burns of La Porte; a daughter-in-law, Carma Burns of Troupe, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.

Bernice was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Our Lady of the Snows Circle, PNA, Eagles, VFW Women’s Auxiliary, and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, ESSLING CHAPEL, 1117 Indiana Ave, LaPorte, Indiana 46350.  A Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2016 at St. Peter Catholic Church in LaPorte, Indiana.  Friends may gather at 9 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana 46350. 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church in LaPorte Indiana.
