Beatrice (Miljanich) Daisy

Beatrice Daisy, 98, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 in Union Hospital of Terre Haute.

Bea was born in Chicago, Illinois to Torka and Lucas Miljanich on June 13, 1918.  She had five sons from a previous marriage before meeting and marrying the love of her life Eugene Daisy.  In the almost 60 years they were married they had two sons and then after hoping for a girl all those years, were blessed with twin daughters.

She loved fishing with Gene and her sons when she wore him out with “move the boat over there, I saw a fish jump!”  She was an avid Cubs and Bears fan, loved to cook and bake, hunt mushrooms, and play nickel and dime poker.  She loved her dogs and had a tender heart for all animals.

Bea was a homemaker who also worked outside the home.  Her last job was her favorite.  She worked in a nursing home where all loved her and she always went the extra mile. 

Bea is survived by her husband, Gene; six sons, Bob Cantrell of Michigan City, Indiana, Roy (Claudette) Cantrell of Wellston, Michigan, Lou (Sherry) Cantrell of LaPorte, Indiana, Jess (Jeannie) Cantrell of LaPorte, Indiana, Roger Daisy of LaPorte, Indiana, and Wayne (Jackie) Daisy of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; two daughters, Susan (Don) Miller of Terre Haute, Indiana and Sandra Lundy of Terre Haute, Indiana; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jim Cantrell; one brother, Louis Milanich and one sister, Olga Cvejanovich.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, ESSLING CHAPEL, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana, where a Memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Brother Rob Hemenway officiating.
